Default click/buzz

I have a 2007 Accord and I just noticed that when your turn the key, there is a very quick buzz/click before car starts. Car starts, just this noise. Tim

Welcome to HAF

Thats is very normal, the sound you hear buzzing/whizzing sound is coming from your fuel pump I believe.

  • I just noticed that if you turn the key slow that's when it does the click noise and if you turn the key fast there is no noise.

What do you mean by "slow" and "fast"?

Do you refer slow as to like going to each phase before starting while fast as to key in start immediately without waiting for cel to clear?

All 7th gen Accords do that. You have to turn the key pretty far, from stop position to start, so with my surgically repaired wrist, I hear the buzz often. If the key stays between position II (on), and start, for any length of time, you will hear the buzz. Turn it quickly, and you don't hear it. Not sure if Honda designed it that way, or if that's just how it works, but it's never caused a problem.
