Confirmed Fix - Murphy's law, car won't start at all.. any ideas?
Nothing from the tach......I'm with the ICM but get the test light and confirm inputs/outputs before doing anything. The signal to the tach comes from the blue wire on the ICM.....but again you need to be sure the icm is getting the proper inputs.
You were right, icm, for lack of any tools and having to "do something if it's anything to just do something so anything can happen", I thought, **** it. I was 99% that it was either the icm or the coil, so I took the icm over to the parts store(my plan was to buy a coil if the module proved out OR a module it it didn't).
It tested bad three times. So I took it to another parts store where it also tested bad.
Then I had them test the new one and it tested good. So I bought it and slopped it onto the car and BLAM it's fine. The bad news is, no good brands available, so I just got the $43 house brand. It's a lifetime warranty, so I am sure it will fail when I am about 200 miles out, one fine night. Hahaa

If you really really can't find "good brands", and you're worried about it, just buy 2 of em. Have enough tools in the car to do a quick swap on the road, then return the failed one for warranty the next day.
Hell yes- when I was monied, I had almost every new part imaginable in the trunk and strapped to the underside of my vehicles. I just noticed in the write-up yall posted that it says those two brands are the best to have, and eric the car guy says non honda ignition parts aren't very good.. I wish I could afford to have extra parts with me- it is an EXCELLENT idea.
As an aside- it did THIS again today
https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ndition-55896/
Parked it at the gas station, went inside, came out ten minutes later and crank+no start (But not like when the module was bad, it was trying to start- just a hint of a sputter, started right up within two minutes and has been fine since)
So I assume that the two issues were unrelated
As another aside- I figured out a way to find out if you have fuel pressure if you have no tools to work with- I took off the gas cap, put it back on and cranked on it, and then took it off and it said HISSSS .... I know that sounds stupid but if you are stranded with nothing and would rather not open up the schrader and pour gas out, it works !!!!
