Default Cracked Head Gasket

Hello again,

My 2000 Honda Accord has a cracked head gasket. I have to put antifreeze in it at least twice a week. It is leaking into the oil so I have to keep an eye on how often to change it. Does anyone know what it may cost to get the head gasket changed? Also while the head is off I will have the timing belt, water pump and all other belts changed as well.

thanks again,

You don't say where you are, but in my neck of the woods (a small city, but well enough to do area)
a timing belt and pump at the dealer was quoted $720+pump cost+tax based on son's '93 accord.
I think total ballparked to $900. This, being dealer, would likely be highest cost shop.

Head gasket & external belts would be on top of that for you. I don't guess these.

I live in orange county NY. The car only has 119,000 and is over due for a timing belt and water pump change. We are giving it to our daughter for college and want it to make sure she has a safe car to drive.

Hmmm, are you completely sure you have a bad head gasket? What diagnostics did you employ to bring you to that conclusion?
