Default Crank Angle Sensor

My sons 93 Accord acted up on him yesterday. Check Engine light was on and would not rev past 3600 RPM. Took me half the day to find the cross over plug, but discovered the Crank Angle Sensor is the problem. Cant find anything on the net so here I am now!! Can anyone give me any insight as to where its at and how much of a pain they are to replace?

Default RE: Crank Angle Sensor

It is a pulse count wheel inside the distributor, replaced as a distunit.
Check all the connections at the distributor, and the ground at the T-stat housing.
Beyond that the distributor probably needs to be replaced.

On a side note; if you get a reman unit from the parts store keep your old unit until you know the new one works. I've seen several with bad ignitors in the reman units, and had to swap out ignitors.

Thanks for your help Hondadude!! Just so happens that the local mech here in town has a 92 with the same engine thats suffering from a bent valve so we're gonna pull his and see if that Dist. solves the problem. Again, Thankyou.
