Default Cruise control not working on 6th gen

I had a question maybe someone could help me out with. For reference, I have a 2000 lx 2.3 coupe mt. When I press my cruise control button on the dash, it lights up green on the actual button. However, when I try to set the cruise control at speed, the green light doesn’t light up in the gauge cluster, and the CC doesn’t activate. It’s driving me crazy - I’ve ruled out the CC button, fuses, the set/resume module on the actual steering wheel, and I even tried the penny trick on the brake pedal switch which didn’t seem to do anything. I don’t want to have to buy a new CC module if I don’t have to - any ideas what this could be?

I wouldn't jump to the CC module and would start with the basics. Do your brake lights work properly, or are they on at all times? Next, take a look at the throttle body where the cable from the CC unit connects. See if that cable is secure or if the plastic is broken where the cable attaches. Does your speedometer work properly, or have you had any other issues/repairs/accident recently?

Scan for codes if you have a scanner or stop by a parts store or shop to see if any codes would give you some direction.

I’m a bit of an idiot. I’ve been messing around with it for about a month when it’s been staring me in the face. Turns out, someone must’ve popped out the rubber piece on the clutch arm that depresses the clutch switch when the clutch isn’t being used. Just fixed it by taping a penny to the clutch arm and works fine now. I was so concerned with the brake pedal I didn’t even think to look at the clutch lol. I appreciate the help

Glad it was simple.

My TSX cap for the brake switch broke when my car was parked at the airport and drained the battery. I bought the dual piece from oreilly's for the brake and clutch pedal. I found the clutch was broken on mine, so you might want to swap both out. I don't use CC often, so it could have broken years ago.
