Default cruise control not working in accord 1998

Good day to you all in HAF, i discovered recently that my cruise control is not working. when i push the cruise control master switch and then press and hold the SET/decel button on the steering wheel the cruise control light on the instrument panel does not light up. please any suggestion on what causes it. since the control light does not appears the car does not maintain a constant speed under the cruise control settings, which means is not functioning. 1998 honda accord, 2.3 Lx v-tec, mileage 224,000. auto trans., 4 cylinder. Hoping to hear from you people soon. THANKS

Fiddle with your brake switch, common problem.

Check if you brake lights are turned on all the time.

Also, have the codes read on your car. Most parts stores do this as a free service.
