Default Dash Brake Light

Sorry if this is repeat - I cannot get "search" to work on this forum. 2000 Accord LX 4CYL. I have brake light on dash coming on in morning and then goes out after awhile. Do not think it is parking brake. What should I do first? Brakes do not feel mushy, they work fine. Should I try putting new fluid in and bleeding brakes?

Also link to Bleeding Brakes in DIY section is bad.

hmm..all i know is that the brake light in the dash just corresponds to your hand brake...maybe you need to check your hand brake wirings and maybe adjust your hand brake...

Pull the brake fluid reservoir inlet screen and notch opposite sides of lower "flap seal" end w/ scissors. This breaks the hydraulic lock which is holding the fluid level sensor down. It worked for me on my 97 2.5TL which had this problem for over a year. Has not returned since. Some searching on this site may find the answer, but I don't remember if answer came from here.

good luck

Or if its the BRAKE LAMP warning light, then check the bulbs in taillight clusters.

The other BRAKE warning is either the handbrake switch or the fluid reservoir float switch.
