Default Dashboard brake light

Hi,

On my 1999 Accord Sedan (122000 miles) the dashboard brake light appears whenever the weather gets cold. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions please?

thanks

Can you help with "which" brake light to start..

The one like the e-brake is on or the one on the "car icon" at the rear.......I can guess the first but would like to confirm.

You are right. It's the e-brake light.

The problem is likely the float in the brake master cylinder. It turns on the e-brake light when the fluid is too low, so check the brake fluid level first.

I had this problem on my 95 accord. I think there was a problem with the float mechanism. There is a writeup on here about the screen that may be able to fix the problem.

And I think there is an issue when it is cold of the "switch" sticking...memeory is shot right now.

I'd suggest two things, check what PA suggested, flush brake fluid if due...or at least "suck" out what is in the res and replace with new fluid....but really suggest a flush if it is due.

And yes I saw this on HT as well
