Default daytime running lights

Hi , I am a newbie so therefore I think am allowed to ask some stupid questions. First off I just got the car and am trying to get it saftied in Canada and I have a problem with my DRL. When I start the car drop the handbrake the hand brake light goes off but the DRL light stayes on, which I find wierd cause that is suppose to actvate the DRL's. From my understanding the DRL's are ran off lowering the voltage to the High beams. Now when I got the car the the passenger side HighBeam didn't work (that is fixed now, new bulb) but the DRL light on the dash is still on and both high beams work. I guess my real question is could the high beams still work but not the DRL, like the one bulb is new but the other is old but the high beam works would the old bulb have something wrong with it that causes th DRL's not to work or is the problem worse then that. Also the fuse is good.

Thanks for any help in advance.

You might want to test the Module that controlls the DRL and replace it.

Where would I find it and what does it look like. Also any idea of what it would cost.

THanks

ask DH since I really have no idea. A lot of car manufacturers place the module on the inside of the fender to use it as a heatsink so it could be any number places. US accords did not come with DRL

Hey I have a 91. The same thing happed to me. The module is located on the drivers side under the dashboard. You don't have to unscrew anything. Just get something to push it up then you should be able to disconnect the harness. But if you want to buy a new 1 is about $90 CDN, If you are lucky enough to find onr at the wreckers grab it. 1more thing before u go out and buy one, open the module and check the soldering inside. I was told that aver time the solder comes loose. so just resolder the loos connection and it should work. good luck
