whats going on guys, so i have a 94 honda accord lx coupe and I'm having a little problems when it comes to my e brake, when i pull it to lock it such as on a hill nothing happens it just falls back into the original place, any ideas of what i can do to get my E brake to lock into place as it normally should.

 

Does the parking brake make that ratcheting/clicking sound when you pull up on the lever?

When you pull all the way up on the lever, does that engage the rear brakes?

Have you done any work on the car lately?

 

No, nothing at all. i just bought the car a few weeks back, it was a good price so i figured id work on it and bring everything to factory settings but i don't know what to do about this one. theres no clicking or any sound when i pull it up, it just pulls and then retracts back into its original position.

 

Good call PA......I think where he is/was going is the spring(s) inside the e-brake handle might have broken - or is stuck. What does the button on the "end" feel like?

 

it just goes it doesn't have an end. it'll just push in but it doesn't feel like theres a stop for it.

 

Again it sounds like the spring is broken....
