Default Econ button

Can anyone explain how the ECON button functions in my 2017 Accord Coupe. Is there any benefit of keeping it engaged all the time?

The DIY section is really for prepared repair instructions. So I'll move this to General Tech where its more likely to get answered.

I'm sure the ECON button influences the shift points of the transmission for better fuel economy (at the price of less acceleration). I also suspect it influences the behavior of the iVTEC system.

It also will disengage the AC under heavy acceleration. Under full throttle all systems work like it is off. Like you just pulled out to pass and you need every horse to finish passing. You will get them all and shift at redline. Live it turned on.

It also "plays" with the pedal position sensor - to ease or slow any "jack rabbit" starts. In the '16 Pilot we keep it on.....unless I get "mad" and then I will turn it off and might even put it into "S" mode
