Default egr cleaning

hey everyone. a quick question here. ive removed the egr valve from manifold. there is a round and a rectangular port underneath.the round port is open but i cant tell if the rectangular port is supposed to be. ive poured seafoam in it but it doesnt drain through. is it plugged or supposed to be that way. ive already cleaned the other ports under the rail.

Both ports on the intake should be clean. Might have to get the shop vac out and a small screw driver

i guess what im asking is where does the rectangular port go? i spray it with tb cleaner and seafoam but it just fills up and doesnt flow through. is that a closed port by design or is it clogged with carbon? its been soaking in seafoam for a day and ive been prodding it with coat hangers to no avail.

If I remember correctly, the rectangular port goes to the individual ports in the manifold and the round one lets the exhaust gas in from a port in the cylinder head to the EGR valve. In any case, those ports have to be clear. Keep working on it with solvent and a coat hanger or whatever the best tool is to get the carbon loosened up and out.

ok, thats what i needed to know. i swear it feels hard as arock in there. ive already removed egr plate and cleaned the port holes. i just didnt think about the hole to egr valve body itself.
