The 2011-2012 Accord has the brake override system. That system is designed to cut engine power if it senses that the accelerator pedal might be stuck (the pedal is open and then the brake pedal is pushed). If you rest your left foot on the brake pedal while driving, the system will think you’re trying to slow down the vehicle and will cut engine power.
