Default Engine ID question

The engine I purchased was tagged as a 1993 F22A1 out of an LX model. I was told that it would be an identical match for my 10th anniversary car. Wiring harness was different along with some other small issues. I'm trying to determine the reason why. The 10th anniversary has "HA" above F22A1 on the block &the LX is stamped "HM" is someone BSing me or what?

Default RE: Engine ID question

Look at the first digit of the block serial # (stamped below the F22A1). If they dont match, thats a different model-year engine. Just F22A1 doesnt mean its exactly the same for all different years, for those little details. Maybe you can use parts off your old engine where they are different??
