Finch, be careful about parking on dry leaves .... especially if your car is slammed to the ground. Remember the Fiero fire starters???

Other than that, there shouldn't be any problems with removing the heat shield. I've done it before with no problems.

Good Post Answer: I was gonna say that again about the posiable fire hazard to wood and paper under the car..

What about after market cats? I've got a high flow Catco and it has no heat shield, top or bottum. Unless it's some how built in. Is this something I should worry about?
