Fan/Computer voice *out*
2005 EX NV/L V6
The fan stopped blowing for A/C and heat yesterday. I tried manually putting the ac on fan on-no luck. I tried using the voice control, that is also not responding but it still works the systems. I noticed that when I turn the car on, the AC controls are not lit up and I have to press the buttons on the screen to get them to light, but again nothing happens. I have tried Auto temp control as well as manual. Has anyone encountered this before?

Problem may possibly due to blower power transistor. See this first thread:

This second thread is an easy way to test the motor itself:

I just picked up the car from the mechanic...he gave up on it and sent me to a dealership. He claims he had a Honda mechanic come by with a "relay" and it didn't work. I asked if it was under the passenger side dash and he stated "yes". I am lost here...I can't afford to use the bathroom at a dealership.

Your posts sound contradictory regarding the fan running or not.
The blower already receives power/voltage (+) with the ignition is turned on, it just needs the ground source (-) for it to run.
The ground source (-) is provided via the blower power transistor. The blower power transistor is controlled by the Climate Control Unit.
You don't need to externally hook up separate 12 volt power to test if the fan motor runs. You could just provide the ground to the motor, which my simple test in my first post of this thread was about.
The Honda mechanic probably brought a blower power transistor over, not a relay. If it is not the power transistor, it may be an issue with wiring or the Climate Control Unit.

The mechanic told me the fan was running when he ran power to it, I took this to mean he ran a 12 v line to it, bypassing all the circuitry. I agree on the resistor/relay confusion. I took the car back tonight-to my home and am going to replace the resistor anyway and see if that fixes it.
