Default Fitting adjuster bracket and screw on 92 Accord alternator

Hi!

After sitting dormant for months I decided to check the alternator to see if it were killing the battery. Yes indeed it was so I got a remanned alternator.

It came and after much profanity I got the screws off. A bracket flew off but I could not find where it went. It was the adjustment screw bracket. There is an adjustment screw which goes through a bracket and another hole for the fastening screw to hold the bracket and adjustment screw onto the car frame. On the other end of the adjustment screw is an L-bracket for the bottom bolt to go through. The bottom bolt must go through the moon shaped adjustment path before going through the L bracket.

Simple enough. But if I put the bracket assembly with the mount screw on the left and the adjustment screw on the right the adjustment screw gets stuck under the left bottom mount frame for the alternator and has 3/4 in sticking out.

If there is a detailed diagram for a 1992 Accord I'd be thrilled. Too much trial and error isn't fun.
Thanks
KT

I attached a pic of the 94 alternator. The setup should be similar to your 92, but probably not identical. It will give you an idea of how the alternator bolts in.

Brokanic:
I'll give that a try. I needed to go BESIDE the adjustment track and under the alternator, not under the track with the adjustment bolt. That's where I screwed up. Never pays to think after x hours of grunting and fussing. Thanks!
