Front engine mount area
ok, on top of the subframe about 3 inches from the front engine mount, theres a 5"x3"x2" metal bracket around a hardened piece of rubber. The only two mounting points on it are the ones that connect to the subframe. What is that for exactly? a resting point for the stock exhaust?
Yo Marbro..is this the place that your stock exhaust or your present exhaust is resting??
I looked in a chassis book and didn't see where that piece was..maybe you can take your dig cam out and get a picture to post of it ***a small picture !

bracket is the piece thats mounted to the subframe
subframe1 is the points that the braket is mounted to
subframe2 is just a larger view of the engine bay, the after market exhaust manifold isnt really that close to the bracket, the stock may have been, i dont know..... i never cared about looking under the hood until after i had the exhaust changed
i wont know if they are small until i look at it on the browser, sorry ^_-

i am not 100% sure on this one but i believe it is there , in case the frt motor mount and side mount brakes ( collapses) it would keep the frt of the engine ( manifold ) from hitting the subframe and create further damage..
i believe it is called the frt beam dampener //

wouldnt the intake manifold slam into the back lip of the engine bay anyways? And I would think that would buckel the subframe just as bad as the engine slipping into the subframe itself. Eh, this is my view, taking that off my car reduced 5 pounds lol
