Angry Fuel Consumption Problem

I have a 1997 Honda Accord 4 cylinder VTEC. I am having fuel consumption problems. My car is rated at 22mpg in town, and 28mpg highway. My actual mileage I'm getting is 14mpg in town, and 17mpg highway. I have no clue why it is getting such horrible gas mileage. The only mods I have on it is greddy full exhaust, aem fuel rail, koyorad radiator, and a V2 intake. All mods were already done to the car when I bought it. Can anyone tell me why my car is consuming so much gas?

You may want to look at the ratings of the fuel injectors as they are not factory, they may have a higher rate than the factory which would consume more gasoline.

1997 accord 4cyl vtec - well maintained 100k mi. Fuel appears to be going at @ 18 mpg average which is way off. runs very smooth on road, no leaks. I just put 150 mi on and went thru 2/3 tank rgular. No mods. (?)

Best to do this by dividing the miles driven by the amount of gas when filling up...I drove 360 miles and at fill up it took 13 gallons = 27.69 MPG

Are the tune up items up to date - cap, rotor, plugs.

Check for any stored codes - in this link there is a "how to": https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...threads-40780/

Check for leaks where fuel injectors mate to fuel rail. Check the fuel lines from front to rear under the driver's side for leaks.

Check fuel pressure regulator by removing vacuum reference line and sniffing. If you smell gas, the diaphragm is ruptured and a new FPR is needed.

good luck
