Fuel filter
Forgot to ask about this.
Does anyone know how often, or if at all you need to replace the fuel filter on my 97 Accord, 2.2 liter.........not sure when it was done last but might change it out. A little tough to get to also.
Thanks!

RE: Fuel filter
Fuel filter is not a maintenance item, and is replaced only when fuel pressure indicates a problem. The fuel pump has an inlet screen that will catch any typical rust so fuel filter only catches very tiny particles, and should last very long time.
My 94EX has 225K miles on original fuel filter w/o problems, though I've had to replace fuell pump. The tank was pristine w/o rust so if this is typical, blocked filters are unlikely.
BTW, the fuel filter is very difficult to access in these cars, but do-able w/ special tool (crows foot open end socket).
good luck

RE: Fuel filter
I’ve never performed a pressure check on mine other than cracking the bleeder port to check for a spray of fuel. A fuel pressure check kit should have this fitting or you’ll have problems finding a fitting. I have searched for the fitting and not found readily available.
Why do you want to check fuel pressure? Starting or performance problem?
Good Luck
