fuel pressure

Default fuel pressure

Working on 1990 accord with 2.2 and needing fuel pressure specs.

At idle with the FPR connected - 30 to 38 psi.

You can "dead head" the pump by pulling or pinching off the vac line to the FPR and you should see 40 to 47 psi....I don't like doing this for very long, just a few seconds.

Actually, that doesn't "dead-head" the fuel pump. It just sets the regulator for a higher pressure, a bit higher than wide-open throttle. The fuel still flows & recirculates back to the tank.

In order to dead-head the pump (which you would NOT want to do), you have to disconnect & plug the actual fuel line. Not the vacuum line.

removing the vacuum hose will give you full output of the fuel pump ... you would pinch the return line just past the fpr to test the fpr as pressure should rise more
