Default gas pump/sending unit access panel?

I have been told that 3rd gen has an access panel to get to the fuel pump in the trunk but I don't know what it looks like or where in the trunk it is. Can anybody help?

I think you have to lift up the carpet in the trunk. The metal cover will be near the back seat.

The common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum has a link for online shop manuals. The 3rd gen is available and will help you out a lot.

It is an "oval" shape panel under the carpet. I fold down the back seat and roll/fold the carpet into/onto the back of the rear seat.

The "oval" panel is glued to the body with black "gum tape" - use a flat blade screw driver and pry it up.

The fuel pump is on the left/drivers side of the car......the fuel level sending unit is on the right/pass side.

If you need pic's, give me a few days (weekend) and I can take a few for you.
