Default Got fuel but no spark 1994 honda accord

Gday guys

I own a honda accord 1994 exi And i have aproblem i was driving the other day and the car died and refused to start. So i towed it home and the rotor and the cap has black soot on them so i have ordered a new cap and rotor button . As i wasnt geting spark even from the cap. I also ordered a coil . Now what i was wondering is it comon for the igniter unit also to fail . Or is it more of the chance just the coil

Regards

Dave

Did you measure anything to show the coil was failed? It could be either the ignitor or the coil. Some people have seen that when either one fails it canlead tothe other failing soon after.

I had a similar problem and it was the igniter.

ya, i would have measured befor ordering the coil... if you have the chiltons for you car it willgive you a range of what the measured resistance of the coil should be, you can get a DMM at harbor freight for like 5 bux

Since your cap and rotor are that dark when is the last time you changed your spark plugs? What kind of plugs did you put in?

Actually, the coil's secondary resistance is quite low, like under 10 ohms. That's way down in the noise for an inexpensive meter.

Well i got a new coil yesturday not really thinking about looking at it as its meant to be the same one . I get it home and its actually to big lol but we butched a setup to see if it would work and presto thats the problem now i have ordered the right one and should have it by 2morow and get it in .
But the main problem is if you aAustralia and you 1994 model all the parts listed arnt for your model our 1994 is actually the 1993 usa model so get 1993 parts for the ignition setup lol otherwise you will go through the same **** i did

But alas i got it to start its the dogiest setup i ever seen but its works and keeps the car running lolz
