Heater Not Blowing Hot Air
I have a '91 LX that I just bought, it's been pretty cold lately and the heater will only blow out slightly warm air on the hottest setting no matter how long I drive it. I decided I'd put in a new thermostat and that didn't seem to help, so my first stupid question is if anybody knows which way it's supposed to be turned, I don't think the old one was in right anyway. Otherwise, any other ideas other than checking and replacing the whole heater core? Thanks

the longer part of the t-stat goes inwards, chk heatrer valve make sure it is operating properly. chk the heater **** as well make sure when u are fully on hot the cable pulls the heater valve all the way open

RE: Heater Not Blowing Hot Air
Deserthonda may be right--I had the same thing happening in my 91 EX. I cked the valve and it wasn't opening all the way. I put some good all weather lube (breakfree clp) on the cable and valve and worked the heater hot/cold switch. Now the **** will stay all the way hot and blows much hotter. Thanks deserthonda.
