Help! please :)
New to Hondas! this car is a 1992 honda accord. Im using this car as a figure 8 race car. would like to eliminate as much stuff in the engine compartment that i can. I was wondering if item circled is for cruise control? And also what is item 2? not sure but it has cooling fins on the top of it. Anything else that can be removed would be awesome too. Also are there any sensors that i need to know about that will cause a car to not start if they sense impact. for example how for as the inertia switch? Also where is the computer located? All info is great. Thanks.
1 is the cruise control. 2 is probably the resistors for the fuel injectors, so you need them.
I'm not so familiar with the sensors that are part of the airbag system, but I am pretty sure that the airbag system is separate from everything else. I am not sure what other safety features like an inertia switch are on the accord.
The ECU should be under the carpet below the glove box. You can download a 93 shop manual (UK version though) that will give you a good idea of where every thing is located. Go to the spooner link I posted in the Online Manuals thread in the DIY section.

At least by 1995, Honda made it "traditional" to wrap all the airbag wiring in bright-yellow bundles. I also think(?) they used a system where the accelerometers are in the airbag computer - not scattered around in the bumpers.
PS pump? Loop the PS tubes at the steering rack together to each other.
Depending on the rules you race under, maybe the windshield wipers, wiper motor, & washer pump & reservoir?
I think I see AC hoses... remove the AC compressor, & hoses, etc.
