High Idle at start up

Default High Idle at start up

I have an 88 honda accord dx. When i start it up the rpms jump and sit at 2000 and after it warms up it idles fine, is it just because its cold or is there something i need to fix?

sounds like a normal fast idle ( carburator choke ) operation
How long does it stay at higher idle ?? temp are pretty warm ( hot ) right now so it should not stay up there too long

It stays up there maybe 5 to 10 minutes

and another problem im having is sometimes when i turn the wheel, there is a loud screeching sound like a belt is rubbing against something.

have you checked the belts ?? P/s , to see if it is loose ?? have you looked under the hood at all ??
