Awesome,thanks for posting that info.

I need a new cable myself,it doesnt push or pull too well since the plastic tubing around it broke away at the top.

Early production year 1995 Accords air/mix control cables can be adjusted. Do not try to adjust late production year 1995, 1996, and 1997 Accords, as they came with a non-adjustable air/mix control cable.

See my post #6 in this thread:

Also, see this other thread for some info. I posted:

True, the first cable - **** to blend door - on the later ones have a "holder" on/around the plastic cover that does not allow any adjustment.

However, the cable from the blend door to the heater valve IS adjustable. If you need pic's from my 97 let me know.

One is a heater valve cable. The other cable is the air/mix control cable.

To further clarify the cables and the adjustments.
  • One is a heater valve cable.
  • The other cable is the air/mix control cable.

1994 and early production year 1995 Accords:

  • Heater valve cable is adjustable
  • Air/mix control cable is adjustable
Both heater valve cable and air/mix control cable adjustments are shown from a Honda service bulletin as part of my post # 15 and 16 in this other thread, which was previously reference in my above post #12. The service manual does not show the same level of detail for the air/mix control cable adjustment as the service bulletin.

https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/forum/general-tech-help-7/heater-control-cable-adjustment-8250/page2/

However, the service manual shows the heater valve cable adjustment in more detail (instructions for heater valve cable adjustment is on the left of service manual page), as posted by Poorman212 in his previous post # 10 of this thread.

Late production year 1995, 1996, and 1997 Accords:
  • Heater valve cable is adjustable
  • Air/mix control cable is non-adjustable (mid-year 95 Accords, 96, and 97 Accords came with a new non-adjustable air mix control cable) *

*The nonadjustable cable is on ’95 and later Accords beginning with these VINs:

Coupe:_______1HGCD7 . . . . . . SA034591
V6:__________1HGCE6 . . . . . . SA032557
Wagon:______ 1HGCE1 . . . . . . SA009623
Sedan (US):__ 1HGCD5 . . . . . . SA128499
Sedan (Japan)_JHMCD5 . . . . . . SC031175

Can you post a photo of your heater controls?

Regardless, check out this thread:

Maybe it will be of some use to you.

"Tony" again nice to see you around, hope things are going well for you

OP- I made an edit to your post, yes I can do that - putting your e-mail out in the open is not a good thing. Members can send messages to each other through PM.....Mod's can look up the e-mail address you use/used to sign up to the site.

Thank RB for posting the pic's of the cables.
