How do I access the parking brake switch (2001 Accord)

Lift up on the trim around the shifter and it will pop out. Just rotate it out of the way and the parking brake switch is there on the e-brake with a green or black wire coming from it.

I don't know if you can get away without removing the WHOLE console. Good luck.

Probably have to remove the shift handle & boot?
The cupholder #7 snaps out by pulling upwards.
The next piece #13 also snaps out but I always had trouble grabbing it.

If you can't reach the wire now, you have to remove the console #14.
Center bin #11 has to come out, but not easy to grab. I think there's a panel above #11 that has to come out first??
Remove the dashboard side panels to expose the screws #43.
Remove the "floor" of the storage bin #18 to expose a couple more screws.
(I hope I haven't forgotten much...)

I'm not sure which side screws you mean, but I've had the console out ('98) without removing the seats.
