Default I cant turn off the fan

Hi Everyone. I just bought a 94 accord ex. The fan I am refereing to is the heat/ac fan. it seems to stay at level 1, if i switch it to the "off" the fan is still on and the **** seems to have alot of play from "off" to level "1". I can go to level 2, 3, and 4 fine. Is a part of the **** stripped? I pulled the **** off while it was in level one, and tried to turn the metal nipple by hand and it does have any play, my fingures arent strong enought to turn itcounterclock wise to the off position andI dont have a pair of needle nose pliers. Do you think i just need a new ****?
I found one on ebay for reference: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95...spagenameZWDVW

Default RE: I cant turn off the fan

I doubt it's just a new **** because the **** itself doesn't have any "stops" on it that would prevent it from turning in a full circle if you wanted. The switch itself is what designates the stopping point not the ****. So it's either the switch, the ****, the blower motor or the cabling to the motor. I'd pull that area out and try to pull the cable with a pair of plyers to see if you can get it to shut off.
