Our 2nd Car is a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6. My Spouse returned home a couple of weeks ago and told me that the remote key had stopped functioning. When I heard that, I did some research and found that cost to get it fixed by someone else was horrific, so I looked for an inexpensive DIY. I found a $9.99 kit on Amazon that got excellent reviews, so I ordered it. The kit was helpful, but it was not anyway near as easy as the instruction said. Anyway, I finally got the fob apart without breaking it, removed the battery compartment, and replaced the 1616 battery, which was identical to the battery I replaced. I reassembled everything, and tested it. It didn't work. I flipped the battery over, and it still didn't work. I tried another supposedly fresh battery, and that didn't work either. Batteries were supplied with the kit that I purchased, and I'm assuming that they weren't both duds. My question is, If it wasn't a battery problem, what else could have happened to make the device nonfunctional? Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

 

It could be something with the aftermarket unit in the car.....pretty sure the remote start was not a factory option in '04.
