Ignition sporatically cuts out - 1993 accord
Hey everyone,
I've been fixing cars for about 6 years now and this one's got me stumped.
I've got a 1993 honda accord 4cyl and every so often while driving down the road, the ignition will just completely cut out. No sputtering, nothing. As if I took the key out. It won't start again either, until many hours have passed. To be sure it was an ignition issue, I took a spark plug wire off one of the plugs and grounded it out. Nothing.
It's not the fuel pump, I can hear it whine through the fuel cap while starting.
I've replaced the ignition coil and the distributor.
Anyone got any ideas as to what else it could be?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!

When it is not starting, turn the key to the II position and check that you have 12V on the blk/yel wire that goes to the coil. If you don't have 12V, then suspect the electrical portion of the ignition switch.
Also, if you can get the car to stall out by shaking the key, then you pretty much verified the electrical part of the ignition switch.
