Just bought a '94 Accord EX
Hi everyone! Hope all is well.
My car is getting nice new timing belts and a water pump next week. But, in doing an oil change on Sunday, I saw that my output shaft seals are leaking. Nothing bad, but definitely seepage. At 185,000 miles I am sure they are due for a changing! However I am having problems finding the exact OEM part # for the driver and passenger side. I found the OEM Honda passenger side part #, but am a little unsure of the drivers side ... ?
Here is what I have so far.
Passengers Side: 91206-PK4-003 OEM Honda Parts Oil Seal (40x66x8) (Nok)
If you go to this page you can see a diagram of the transmission, I just can't seem to located the drivers side seal. Maybe I am just brain dead today haha. What I can never fathom is why vendors/dealers make it so hard to find part #'s? It's almost like they make it a game of chess on purpose.
One last thing and I'll stop being a chatty kathy. But I noticed also during the oil change that my drivers side power steering dust boot is done. It's ripped and I also notice a tiny bit of power steering fluid seepage. I just had to put in a new rack in my VW at 195,000 miles. Is the Honda getting to that point? I've been watching the level and it hasn't moved yet...But my VW went from good to bad in a matter of a couple months. Also, a part # for the drivers side OEM boot would be awesome too. I am assuming the drivers side boot is different than the passenger side... ?
Look forward to chatting with everyone soon !!
Poorman, this pic is for you! Another dozer use pic. This was taken about 2 years ago when we were unloading my friends 1957 Ford Galaxy 500. He ended up restoring her and selling it a while later.

Use Sons Honda's website to look up part numbers. They group the parts more conveniently than the other OEM parts websites. The seal you're looking for is shown on another assembly called TORQUE CONVERTER HOUSING. I think it's OIL SEAL (44X68X8) (NOK).
Clean up the PS shafts and replace the boots. I've had good luck with Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak.

If you're careful to mark the threaded part of the tie-rods, and convince yourself you get them back into the same position, then OK. Mark it good, because the bare threaded end can spin, as well as flex up down & around.
When I was 15~16 a friend of mine had a ford almost just like that. It had a built sb motor that had to be pushing 400 hp. Yes where I grew up, we still would hang out in parking lots on weekends...me in the '66, jimmy had the '71 nova, nick in the '72 chevelle, sammy had a '72 camero, frank had the galixie 500
ford in the group and then there was keith, a '68 camero that was BUILT.
Six guys in a '68 camero, full roll cage, NO bottle bolted to the floor between the front and rear seats - what was left after the roll cage. Not a very smooth ride
Surprised I ever got married....but at the same time I have to say this......the car I took her out in for our first date, it is sitting in my garage right now...the '66 Chevelle.

Pretty funny about the view count, but then again given how epic this build has been, I'm not surprised.
At some point, this car is going to have more parts from 2012-2013 in it than from 1994. When the OP is asked what year his car his, he can reply,"We'll, it's a complicated answer..."

Thanks everyone for the part #'s.
Looks as though my build thread is quite famous
I feel proud!! And some people may look and say, "this guy is always fixing his car". But, in reality the car is a true work horse! I only have $600 invested in the entire car to date! But with any old car, things need replaced. I have learned so much in the world of Honda's it's unbelievable and I owe it all to you gentlemen here on hondaccordforum.com. Without the knowledge and help of everyone the little EX wouldn't be what it is today!
Wish the EX luck, she goes in for timing belts and water pump next week. Then I can ride her out to 300,000 miles!
And by the way poorman, that nasty blue smoke I saw months ago, has never rear her ugly head again. I am thinking it was the PCV causing the smoke. Since I cleaned that out she's been running clean. Although I do think it burns about 3/4 of a qt of oil between changes. Can't have everything huh?

Good to hear about the smoke.....I guess I got lucky when I said not to get worked up over it
If/when you change the boot, the small end clamp is a "spring" type clamp....Use a small screw driver and unwind it from the boot....you can reuse it. The larger one is a metal band clamp - just like on a cv boot. I cut it off and just used a zip tie.
Again, just be careful when you remove the vent tube from the boot and you should be fine.
Thanks for the pic...that brought back some fun memories
EDIT: How is the "new place" going?
