Yes, they used a new Honda part. If I’m remembering correctly they said the original part in 8th gens were originally a two piece part but that Honda had later updated the spool to be one solid piece (?). They installed the updated part in hopes it would fix the leak but alas.

That is the conundrum I find myself in, the shop I’ve been taking it to has thankfully been re-checking and trying again and again at no charge, and I fear bringing it to a new shop I’ll only be starting from square 1 and having to pay more and more.

I would buy the part again, genuine Honda, and do it myself
im not that mechanically inclined but got it done. Took very few tools. Here’s a good video tutorial

I have been fighting this leak for years and I am convinced it is coming from the dipstick. I replaced the gaskets and had the spool piece as clean as new, started the car and saw oil appearing around dipstick tube and nowhere else on spool piece. I have read where there is an oring that can be changed but have yet to see anyone make a video about changing it and where it is located. I would love to see a breakdown of the spool piece that shows internals.

Take a look at an OEM parts site like hondapartsnow.com and look at the dipstick components to see the o-rings required. Not sure you'll find a video on the dipstick removal. I'm pretty sure one bolt will hold it on, then you'll pull out the assembly
