maint wrench flashing new fuel filter or something else?
im working on this 99 Honda accord 2.3 I replaced the fuel wilter from a Purolator to a wix I didn't pay attention to the any sounds but when I did replace it with the wix made in CHINA. it kind sounds like a water fall inside . oil looks fairly clean. air filter probably needs to be replace. I don't know if the maint wrench was coming on before this or its related to the fuel filter? is the main wrench only for the oil and I just need to reset it ? it also seems like the main wrench is intermediate its not on all the time. ideas? thanks

Can't remember the steps right now for re-setting the maint reminder for the 6th gens....check your owners manual,,,,if you don't have it do a google search for it.
It is something like.....get in the car, turn the key to "on", press the trip reset until the "oil life" is displayed, press and hold the trip reset for "X" seconds, the oil life flashes, let go for 'X" seconds and then press and hold until it re-sets.....I could be thinking of the Pilot so again look in the owners manual or search online.

For 98/99 that warning simply goes by mileage. There's no actual functional test. The system has no way of knowing what kind of filter - doesn't even know whether you changed the filter or the oil at all.
1) Key OFF
2) Press & hold the odometer reset button.
3) Turn the key ON while continuing to hold the reset button (don't need to start the engine).
4) Continue to hold the reset button for something like 30 seconds.
5) Warning lamp will flash a few times then turn off. DONE.
6) It'll come back on in 7500 miles or something like that.
