Default Malfunction Indicator/O2 Sensor/Cruise Control

Yesterday my Malfunction Indiciator came on and I understand that may indicate my O2 sensor is bad (most likely at the catalytic convertor); however, this morning I noticed my cruise control does not work. So is it possible that the cruise is not working because of the O2 sensor? Or is this maybe something different?

I want to avoid replacing the wrong thing. I haven't gone to have a code check yet as this is the first day after a holiday.

Thanks

Start by telling forum what Accord you are driving, year and trim level.

If car is equipped w/ OBD2, then go to Autozone and ask them to scan for codes, write down the codes (Pnnnn), and post them.

good luck

Ok, got the scan.

P0139 (Secondary H02S12 (heated oxygen sensor - bank 1 sensor 2) circuit slow response.

Would this also affect whether the cruise control works or not as stated in my original post?

Thanks!

This would not affect speed control and won't affect drivability, however car will not pass an emissions test. Problem could be a faulty sensor, wiring or connector fault, or less likely a faulty PCM.

good luck
