Change to a different oil filter and see if it clears up.
Yeah that is a real **** off when you are trying to help and they just blank out
I hate it when they disappear and never give the results.

sounds like piston slap or valve clatter from being cold, mine makes the same clacking noise in the morning especially if it is 35 degrees or colder.

RE: Morning or First start of the day engine sound
I have a 2003 EX 4 cyl that has what sounds like the same problem. It didn't surface until about 55K miles. Dealer never could hear the sound then said they all sound like that. If you drove it everyday you could tell a marked difference. It does sound like valve noise or poor upper end lubrication.I did find a suggestion to pull the plugs and squirt some oil in each cylinder after running for 15 sec. in the morning to see if that stops it. Anyone have further opinions? Oh, by the way I have lifetime free oil changes from the dealer and have been changing every 3000-4000 miles religiously.

I know it's hard to believe, but this isn't really a problem. It is just the way the engines work. I say this from having an older Accord that makes the same noise and has been for nearly 250,000 miles. It is just the sound the pistons make before they fully expand with heat.
The pouring (squirting) oil down the cylinders idea does not make any sense and will not help other than to foul your spark plugs prematurely. Just remember that it is a normal engine sound and it is simply the way the car works.
