Default Need help finding e-brake cable 1989 Accord LX Coupe (FI)

So I bought a cheap car as a spare/fixer, a 1989 honda accord LX coupe (5spd), with a 4cyl Fuel Injected engine.

I was reading about this generation of accords, and it seems like the LX for this year was normally carbureted? Also, my LX has fixed headlights, not the pop-up style headlights. I read something about other markets outside north america might have the same body style??

Anyway, I have no clue. I don't know if the engine was swapped, or anything, really. I just need to try to figure out what e-brake cable would fit, since some sites show me slightly different results?

There's also this mysteriously disconnected cable in the bottom right of the engine compartment floating around, that is connected to the trhottle. There's a little bit of space there, but I would have no idea what'd be originally connected.

If anyone could tell me ANYTHING, it'd be appreciated.

You have a 1990 accord.

Haha, great! I just did the vin lookup thing too (didn't know there were decoders) and JUST saw that after you mentioned it.

He thought it was an 89. and I assumed he knew what was up. Sorry about the trouble, I should be able to find it all now!

It may help to post a picture, but it sounds like the cable you are talking about went from the throttle body to an automatic transmission.

Take a look at the engine near the front motor mount. There should be a stamp on the engine block. See this thread.

I'll take a look and figure out the engine model in the morning as well as take a picture.

In the meantime, this is someone else's 90 accord lx coupe, and this is exactly what seems to be missing from mine. It's a bit cut off in the photo, but perhaps you can make it out?

Otherwise, I'll post a pic in the morning.

Thanks again!

Awesome, also explains why cruise control wasn't working (though I don't care).

Thanks for all your help, I'm glad I now know how to figure this all out.
