Is there a fuse or relay associated with the temp gauge, and if so, which one is it and where is it located? Also, can any one lead me to a link that explains how to remove and replace the temp gauge in a 94-97 Accord?

 

here's the basic instructions for removing the paneling to get to the guages, from there it should be fairly straight forward... and I don't know of any fuse that is specific to that guage... if there were a fuse out it should affect more than just the temp guage, but fuse #1 may...

Fuse No 1 (10A) in the under-dash fuse box supplies the ECT, and all other gauges of the IP. It's the 2nd from left of bottom row. First fuse is slightly lower and a spare as is the last 5th fuse on RH side of lower row.

I would suggest downloading or purchasing a manual. This is far and away best info for repair.

Thanks guys. One more question: Do you know if the temp gauge out of a 97 Accord SE will work in my 94 Accord EX? I checked on the net and it seems that the SE has an F22B2 engine and mine is an F22B1. I'm thinking it shouldn't make a difference with something like the temp gauge, but I am not really sure. I just got a great deal on the entire instrument cluster out of a 97 SE and hope the temp gauge out of it will work in mine. BTW, if I was to put the whole gauge pod in, how do peolple deal with the difference in mileage when they put used pods out of other cars?

 

the whole guage pod thing depends on your local state laws, I bought my car with a replacement odometer (you do have to/want to disclose that information if you ever sell it) and since it was over 9 years old it wasn't required that the mileage be recorded for title work etc. So in MT it makes no difference, the only issue I can see with using a 97 SE cluster is your dummy lights, if the lights/layout/connections are all the same it should be fine, if not I'd just swap the guages, I'm pretty sure those are the same

 

One way to check if they are the same is to check the parts on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ for both models. Compatible parts will definitely have the same part number. Different part numbers might be compatible, but there is no guarantee.

 

I've seen this setup for selecting parts on a couple other sites, but I can't figure which part is the temp gauge. I select "instrument panel" and it leads to a black and white diagram of the interior, but I don't know what's what. Can someone help me as to which choice on the drop down list and which part number corresponds to the temp gauge?

 

I've had good luck w/ checking interchange-abilty w/ car-part.com's search engine. It will list all the potential salvage donor vehicles in the US (usually quite a large number), and there's a large enough database to insure virtually every possible model match is covered.
