When morning I started I got one - two times click and click and after that I did not make any sound. I put anothetr battery in parallel but could not start. Its not trying to do start at all. I reported to dealer after getting my car that I have to hold my key for little longer tiem start. Also, When I measure RPM through scanner then I was getting 650 rpm in idle state. I told these problem to dealer. He said these problem are ok. Just drive for few weeks then your car will run fine. But now next day again not starting.

 

Make sure battery cables are clean and tight. They may have removed battery cables to do this repair and failed to tighten securely.

I checked that connection. Looks good. I spoke to dealer he said that it might be starter now. I am surpised one by one these problem.

 

I read somewhere if timing chain is not installed correctly then car not start as normal start. Is this true? Now, Dealer is replacing starter motor and charging $500. I am really got fed up. Can anybody help me?

 

Clicking sound can be starter fault, low voltage (bad battery), damaged battery cables.

Chain and tensioner replacement should not have affected starting system IMO.

Do you have any codes? Yes if the timing chain was not set properly the car will not start BUT YOU SHOULD know that you would also be getting a P0341 code. So if you have no codes don't try to blame the timing chain "work".
