The P0171 can just be the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor being dirty. Check the condition of the air filter and gasket. Then use some MAF sensor cleaner spray (CRC makes it) on the sensor.

Are you just getting the one code PO171 or maybe getting another code along with it..(ie) PO172.. ?

Check to see if there is a 2nd code in there..

I'm sure it's not this simple, but I had the exact code about 3 days after I changed my air filter. Turns out the pcv intake (I think that's what it is anyway) that presses into the side of the intake duct got knocked loose. I was relieved that's all it was .

Thanks guys, i forget to mention MAF and PCV is the first one I look at, I change PCV valve too. I clean the valve solenoid intake too. There is no other codes just P0171, meanwhile I do the live data test with the scanner and everything is Ok. MAP,MAF,O2 everything works properly.Dont what to do know.could it be just adjusting the valves clearance? thanks again.
