Hey guys! I need some help figuring out what's wrong with my accord. I was driving for about 15min-20mins and all of a sudden it just died. I was going up a small incline when I noticed it felt like I lost power, I glanced at the tachometer and saw it was at/below 0. So I pulled over and tried to start it up and it tries to turn over but doesn't. I checked my battery cable because it had gotten loose before and thought it was that but sadly it's not. I'm pretty sure i have no CEL light on or any others for that matter. Can someone help me troubleshoot or give suggestions as to what it is? I would be very appreciative for any assistance!! I would check for engine and transmission codes to be sure no codes were set. In the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link for checking engine and transmission codes.

You can try turning the key to the II position, but do not try to start the car. When the check engine light turns on to do the bulb check, the fuel pump should turn on for about two seconds as well. The sound is a faint buzzing/whirling sound that comes from the back seat, so turn off the radio, blower, etc.. and listen carefully.

Also, do you have a volt meter or access to a timing light?

 

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Wish I could of got back sooner. Anyway I check for codes but didn't get any. I also tried turning the key to the II position and i think I could hear it, not quite sure. I also tried putting a little gas into the intake and it still wouldn't fire up. I have a volt meter, but no timing light. I've noticed another issue..when i try to start it then i go to take the key out, it seems that the car kinda shudders(kinda moves for a second or two), or blow back? I asked around and some people say it could of jumped time maybe? Anyway if you have any insight please let me know. I appreciate the assistance! Thanks!!
