Default Need timing belt

I have a 2005 Accord EX. How much will it cost me to get the timing belt repaced by the dealership? Should other work be done at this time?

Is your EX a 4 cylinder? The 4 cylinder has a timing chain instead of a timing belt.

Dealership price will vary depending on your area due to different labor rates. Many dealerships I know of will charge around $700 or more. Some may be less depending on your area. Generally, the tensioner(s) and water pump should be replaced at the same time. On earlier model Accords, it is recommended to change some of the oil seals (e.g., cam seal, crank, seal, etc.) at the same time; but, on your generation Accord, many Honda techs' opinion is that the seals don't leak that easily and many techs don't change them during the time belt change for your generation.

If you do decide to go with a dealership, check for internet service coupons first at that dealership.
