Newbe Needs help with SRS Control Box
I have a 2000 Accord ex 4 cyl and have been told that my SRS control box needs to be replaced by my machanic. Light is on all the time. I looked up the replacement part using my VIN. It calls for part no.77960-s84-a93. Here is my delima. First off I do not know exactly where the box is located in the vehicle. Next can I us a replacement box for the same year Accord but with a different part number? I would hate to purcase one and find out it is incomaptable.
Thanks

"dont mess with SRS."
I would just take it in to the dealer. I wouldnt mess with SRS, if you screw something up the airbags could go off, or worse, not go off when you need them to. and there is no easy way to test the system either.

RE: Newbe Needs help with SRS Control Box
its located in front of the center console on the floor, near the pcm.
the main thing is to disconnect the battery and wait 15 minutes if your nervous around the srs system.
the next major thing is not the use impact tools or hammers etc around the srs control unit while it's still connected.
as far as your part number goes - call the dealer. ask them for a price on the srs control unit for your vin number. ask them to tell you the part numberso you cancross reference what you have on the car to make sure it's the one. there is only one right part number for your car.
