no cold air from A/C
i have a 2005 accord 4cyl and the rest...idk. anyways
my ac is blowing like a fan. not any cold or cool air, its just air coming out. not hot though.
I looked up the internet and a lot of people just recommended getting a freon kit from walmart.
It was something of r134a.
Can someone give me more information on this?
Is there a kit? or do you get these separately.
If it is the latter, what are the items I need to purchase?
It is better off doing it myself than taking it to a repair shop/dealer right?
my friend said they do it for free so i was planning on taking it but after checking out the internet it seems like it is about 100dollars.

You do not want to blindly add R134a to the system. You really need to test the high and low side pressures to see if you are low on charge.
Start the engine and turn on the a/c. See if both fans on the radiator turn on. Also check to see it the compressor clutch is engaging with the compressor pulley.

Listen to PAHonda! A hundred dollars for a shop charge is nothing compared to the cost of blowing out the seals in the compressor.
Don't know where you're located, but here in the Atlanta area lots of shops are charging $29 plus freon. Even if they charge $10 a pound you're only looking at $50 or so.
You also don't say whether you have automatic climate control. If so, you can run its onboard diagnostics to help figure out the problem.
If you have manual controls, AND it's really, really hot inside the car, and none of the indicator lights are working on the control panel, and the compressor doesn't come on, and neither of the radiator fans turn on, based on my current experience then it's likely a bad control board and it's time to hit the junkyard.
