Default Ocasional over heating

whats up peeps?!? hey I have a 1997 accord wagon 4cyl it will over heat every so often. I have noticed that my fans arent running on my radiator. Isnt there a relay switch for the fans? If so where is it? I have checked all my fuses they are good to go, I dont think its the thermostat because it would run hot all the time. I am thinking its on the housing where the hose comes from the radiator to the engine where the thermostat housing is, it has a green plastic connector for the wires? If you guys know I would appreciate help. Thanks

That green switch turns on the fan(s) when the engine gets to a certain temperature. You can unplug the switch, jump the electrical connector with a piece of wire, then start the car. At least one fan should turn on. Maybe both?

You can also turn on the a/c when the car is running and both fans should turn on.

If not, then I would check for voltage at the electrical connector for each fan with the car running and a/c turned on.

FYI: the driver's side fan is called the compressor fan, and the passenger's side is called the radiator fan.

The Fan will also not come on if you don't have good coolant flow over the temp sensor for the fan which could be a thermostat problem.
