Default odd sound when I let off the gas...

So I've been hearing this sound for a while now. When I let off the gas at certain speeds(usually over 40 mph) I hear an "errr" kind of sound. There's also a rattling that sounds almost like a loose heat shield. Btw, my heat shield fell off a while back. I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe motor mounts? Just curious if this is a common problem because it's starting to annoy me lol the car is a 96 Accord LX 2.2L auto trans. Thanks!

See if the symptoms are similar to this technical service bulletin, which may be due to worn mid-pipe gaskets and/or exhaust pipe hangers.

Check the exhaust for the rattling sound like your loose heat shield sounded like. Replaced my heat shield a few years back. Just had to replace flex pipe and after that I got that "heat shield rattle" ended up being the internal honeycomb in the cat converter had split apart. Bang on the converter and see if it rattles.

I head the rattle when braking, usually when coming to a stop and when just starting to accelerate, after up to speed and cruising it was fine.
