Default oil leak

Check these pics out. I'm thinking a leaking valve cover gasket, but what's with the oil all over the alternator? Car is not overheating, but burning smell coming from engine.

Looks like possibly several leaks; distributor shaft/head oring, valve cover gasket, PS pump (Looks minor).

New valve cover gasket kit, new distributor shaft/head oring.

good luck

Thank you!
I had a crank, no start situation a week ago. Car had to be towed, then it started fine the next day for no reason. Couldn't find anything wrong so just replaced the main relay. Is is possible the distributor was not working right because of the leak?

Unlikely, your leak should not affect distributor firing.

When no-start occrus again, check whether fuel pump comes on (fuel pump buzz from fuel tank) for 2-3 secs when keyswitch is turned to On, and goes off. If not, fuel delivery is problem; main fuel relay or fuel pump.

good luck

TexasHonda, I took this car to a mechanic to figure out the no start issue and I also had him do an oil change since it was there already a few days ago. He didn't mention a word about me leaking all this oil. Is he blind? Or is this really not that big of deal? This oil was obviously all there a few days ago(it's caked on old and thick). How come he didn't mention this?

Probably because he's seen much worse on similar age cars. Oil leaks are not rare.

good luck
