Default Oil on my plugs...

Checked my plugs the other day just to see what the previous owner was running (Bosch platinum) and noticed a little oil on the spark side of the plugs. From all accounts and receipts car seemed VERY well maintained and serviced regularly. No running problems that I can tell of,it has good power,no sputtering or stalling, just oily plugs. This isnt normal correct?

A search will show this is extremely common problem. New valve cover gasket kit (felpro or other) has all seals. Easy DIY, except for rocker arm orings if you have an F22B2 engine (LX, DX).

good luck

You said the oil is on the "spark side" of the plugs? Do you mean below the threads, or above them? Inside the combustion chamber? What Tex said applies for oil above the threads, on the ceramic insulator.

Now looking back on it,I had difficulty getting plugs out of the hole after it was unscrewed(Kept falling out of the socket)and the threads could have easily got oily from me messing with it till I was able to pull it out,if indeed the top side area was oily.I need to pull one out I guess in one motion to see if its dirty.
