Another thing to consider is a used engine; if either the head or the lower end proves to be in bad shape, there should be literally thousands of engines in good shape for 1991 Accords located all over the country. Before fussing with an overhaul, I'd be much more inclined to buy a good used motor from a bone yard and put it in your car.

Agreed. You can get a yard motor cheaper than a rebuild kit. Plus if your doing a rebuild and that's your only car and you ain't done it before, count yourself out a car for a week unless you have some really motivated help. Plus if it did eat a ring the cylinder may need reworked.
