Default Pump noise on cold startup

2009 Accord V6, 33k miles. On a cold startup such as first thing in the morning or after my shift at work, I hear a somewhat high pitched noise which sounds like a pump cycling. It's been cold here and it's done it the last 2 days. Thanks for any help.

It only does it for about 2 seconds.

Alternator....I don't think so.

It is sounding more like the vtc solenoid to me. Cold start....hours of sitting and then "errr" on start. I've seen this on the 4cyl before. Need to check on the 6 cyls?

What do you think it could be? I have no clue.

It is a known problem with the vtc solenoid. Just search the web about this topic, because it has been covered.

I don't believe the V6 had VTC (Variable Valve Timing Control); so, the Honda technical service bulletin (TSB) for the 4 cylinder is not applicable to the V6.
